Little more, I fhould think, than that na¬ ture, una (lifted, and uninterrupted, is able to rid herfelf of an offending burthen ; and, in this cafe, will carry off a venereal complaint in the form of a clap, which thefe gentlemen, with a little trouble, would have con¬ verted into a pox. The venereal run¬ ning can never appear more ftrongly in the light of a critical difeharge, than under fuch circumftances, and ought therefore to be a leffbn againft what Turner calls the poft-hafte methods of cure.
