$percentage of asthenopia in emmetropia was 21 per cent., arid that this steadily rose to 72 per cent, in myopic astigmatism, and 74 per cent, in mixed astigmatism, I have in fig. 2 made a table showing the relation of asthenopia to the refraction, from my own cases. I have taken these from my private case-book, because the notes Fig. I. were fuller and the examination more complete. Out of 317 cases 105 suffered from asthenopia, that is, one-third. Comparison of the American table with mine reveals some important differences. I only show 2 per cent, of emmetropic asthenopia, whereas fig. i shows 21 per cent.
