The regularity of the several sets of ratios shown in the above table cannot escape notice; it remains to be seen what are the changes which they indicate to be in progress, and are such changes subject to any uniform laws ? Other tables must be employed to assist us in placing the matter in a sufficiently clear hght. Ihus:-
