    THE MORALITY oF BIRTH CONTROL. It is important that all should realise that no woman should conceive in times of individual misery or ill-health, and should avoid bringing weakly children into the world or more than one can properly nourish and educate; one’s family should be one of choice, not chance. Parenthood should no longer be the result of ignorance or accident, but voluntarily ; and no woman should live in continual dread of having a child or being overburdened with children. All couples should space their children and exercise parental prudence (negative eugenics), thus freeing the wife from anxiety and by controlling the blind biological urge of reproduction, produce the maximum number of healthy and happy children without detriment to the mother and the minimum wastage of infants by premature death. .The shamefaced attitude which has, until recently, characterized the dealings with this subject is to be deplored, for the haphazard production of children is profoundly detrimental to the race. By the dissemination of the best possible methods of avoiding conception, the fertility of the degenerate will be subdued, and excessive increase of family’ and reluctant parenthood will no longer be a terror. SEX EDUCATION. Enlightenment on this great sex topic and dispersal of the present fog of ignorance of the physiology of reproduction and kindred subjects of paramount importance by frank and fearless teaching will certainly contribute to the national well-being. The present “conspiracy of silence’ is being broken by the tuition, without prurience or levity, - of this dominant and vital subject in a manner that does not offend good taste. BIRTH CONTROL HAS COME To STAY : Birth Control is necessary :— 1. To prevent conception in a woman suffering from ailments which would render pregnancy dangerous to life. 2. To limit the number of children according to the income of the father.
