    [CROSS SECTION.] Patented March 10, 1874. The cut shows the inlet passage, entering hor i z o n - tally beneath the window seat, then bending downward nearly to the floor, as the course of the arrows; where the air enters an enclo- sure containing the steam or other ra- diator for heating it. Rising around and between the radiating surfaces, the air becomes at (Knee -warm and diffused at the top, where it is stopped and thrown down- ■ward into the room by a projecting de- flector. Thus no cold air can strike and chiF the in- terior atmosphere, nor can j^ersons be subjected to drafts or currents of air.
