To promote vomiting, warm Water may be used, with a tablespoonful each of Mustard and Salt to the pint of water ; give large quantities, and thrust the finger down the throat. Bland liquids are raw Eggs, Milk, Oils, Elm and Gruel. Stimulants are Tea, Coffee, Whiskey, Brandy, Ammonia, Cajeput, etc. Alkalies as Antidotes are Ammonia, Soap, Lime, Soda, Chalk, Plaster, Magnesia, Powdered Charcoal and Wood Ashes. Acids as Antllotes are Vinegar and Lemon juice. Success depends on giving the antidote quickly before the poison can act upon the system.
