Thc Small Pox is a Difeafe of a more Rn- gular Nature, it is of a very uncertain Ori¬ ginal, we know of no Countrey where it is a Native or Endemial, that is, where it is the Produce of Seafons, Winds, &c. as is the ague in the Levant. It owes the Conti¬ nuation of its Being to a variolous leaven com¬ municable in all Countries and Seafons, but iome Conftitutions of Years favour its Pro- pagation and Mortality more or lefs; from London Bills of Mortality there died there of the Small Pox 1702, only 311; in the Year 1706 died 711; m the Year 1719 died 3229. There is another Circumjlance very fmgular in its Nature, that it never affeffs a Perfon ofeener than once ; m the Plague fome have died in the 2d, 3d, 4th, &c.
