Even to more expensive forms of artificial limbs the principle can be adapted as is seen in figure 2, which is in- tended for an amputation below the knee-joint. The weight of the bod}- is borne by the pehac ring, an artificial joint corresponds with the knee Hexuro, and the fore-part of the foot is cut out of solid rubber, so as to give spring and elasticity without using compli- cating cords and pulleys.
