Folio, mostly Buack LETTER, title within fine woodcut borders, mottled calf gilt, gilt edges, by Riviere, £75. The Ordinal was first issued in the same year (1549) as The First Prayer Book of Edward VI, but as a separate publication. It was incorporated in the 2nd Prayer Book of Edward VI of 1552, but was omitted from all the Prayer Books issued in the reigns of Elizabeth and James I. It was issued in a separate form in 1559 but was not printed again until the appearance of this edition, which is of very great rarity and forms a com- panion volume to the very rare Book of Common Prayer of 1604 which embodies the alterations made by the Hampton Court Conference.
