Here 1050 lbs. were raised 163 ft. high in 90 se- conds; this is equivalent to (1050 * 16. 6 =z) 17325 Ibs. raised 1 foot high in 90 seconds, which is equiva- lent to (17325 1:5 =) 11550 Ibs. raised 1 foot high in one minute. In this case the man’s power is equal to 11550, and the same calculations being pursued in the other cases, give the numbers constituting the last column in the fol- lowing table.
