His sprightly wit, ever a delight whatever the conversation, enabled him to exercise a balance and perspective often much needed ‘ at the end of the line In company with a large number of people I have many reasons for being grateful to him, but more than that, I have enjoyed the privilege of knowing him. During the latter two months a number of cases were reported, in particular among school children, of abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhoea. These attacks did not last more than twenty-four hours.
