    which aim at an analysis of the doses, may be found useful. It is suggested that a definite method of attacking the subject should be decided upon before study is begun, because the absence of a preconceived plan is detrimental to the rapid and at the same time thorough acquirement of knowledge. It will be found that the most satisfactory method is to learn separately each drug in conjunction with its preparations and their doses, and when a working knowledge of these is attained, to consolidate the facts by frequent 1eferences to the other sections of Part L, where attention is drawn to a drug or preparation in its relation to others of similar or different dosage. As a guide to the practical part of the Pharmacy . examinations, alphabetical lists of the roots, leaves, powders, crystals, etc., which must be recognised at sight, have been given. The information contained in Part I. will be found sufficient for most other medical examinations in Phar- macy. Where, however, the Schedules differ somewhat, the variations have been noted, the chief of which lie between that of the Conjoint Board in England and the Society of Apothecaries of London.
