![YS Occurrence of infection by States.—The following list is incomplete in that several units were examined and dismissed before the tabulation by States was begun. ‘The list is a short one, but the overwhelming preponderance of hookworm in the North Carolina contingent is noticeable. This State has contributed more to a high percentage of positives than any other. We may expect our figures to vary greatly as the proportion of recruits from this State rises and falls. It remains to be seen whether the wide distribution and relative frequency of other intestinal parasites in Virginia and West Virginia will remain a constant factor. Too little attention has been paid to ova other than hookworm. All workers in this laboratory have noticed that when ascaris ova are found they are present in numbers greatly in excess of those commonly present in hookworm infection. Hymen- olepis. Oxyuris.
