About this work

Description

A drawing of a person's head, wearing blue glasses, with the text "What you see is: A) What you get B) What is not hidden".

"Someone once told me, 30 years ago, that I am WYSIWYG, ie 'what you see is what you get'. It meant that, to them, there's only what I present, nothing is hidden. However, having been diagnosed as AuDHD so many years later, and not long after I made this image, I think WYSIWYG is a way of describing many people with autism: a kind of directness and insistence on things being clear. Ironically, the late-diagnosed Audhd woman is a master of masking and reverse-masking! So in fact she hides a lot at the same time! It's quite a contradiction."--Provided by the artist.
