    Infusion of Roses ; and half a grain or a grain of the Sulphat of Zinc in each dose, will sometimes be found a very useful addition. The air of the country, and of a tem- perate region, are in such cases almost indispensable. Without these, and a rigid observance of a light diet, and the strictest temperance, the hectical symp- toms will most probably increase, and the patient will at last be cut off. Si vero tristi languebunt corpora morbo. Quod jam non dubiis potcris cognoscere signis, Continuo est jegris alius color; horrida vultum' Deformat macies: turn corpora luce carentum Exportant tectis, et tristia funera ducunt.* In many' cases fistulous sinuses remain for a long time, owing to the discharge of some secreted, or excremcntitious fluid, from the wound having penetrated the organ containing or secreting it. These will often heal up of themselves, by time, if cleanliness is sufficiently regarded, and ¥ Virg. Georg. Lib. 4. 251.
