    general health, are for the most part the only remedies. Saturnine ointments will often form the best dressings for parts thus exposed to a continual exciting cause of inflammation. But other diseases may be excited in bone by wounds, and sometimes even by the continuance of dead pieces within them. To enumerate these would be irrelevant in the present dissertation, as they are by no means peculiar to Gun- shot Wounds. I shall therefore for the present here close the consideration of a subject, which is unfortunately of too much importance in the present state of mankind. From barb’rous Turkey to Britannia's shore.
