    gen or sulphide of ammonium, wliich is insoluble in excess of the latter; the solution also gives a white gelatinous precipitate, Cd2H0, with excess of solution of potash, the filtrate from which is un- affected by sulphide of ammonium (absence of zinc). 10 grains dissolved in w-ater and nitrate of silver added in excess, give a precipitate which—when washed with water and afterwards with half an ounce of solution of ammonia, to dissolve any adhering cadmium, and dried—weighs 12 5 grains.
