Compulsory improvement of dwelling houses Housing Act 1964 (Part II) THE TYNEMOUTH (IMPROVEMENT) AREA No. 1/65 An area containing 470 dwelling houses was inspected, 343 houses were found to be below standard, but only 238 were rented and would be subject to the powers of compulsory improvement. During the year, the making of the area was advertised, and the service of the preliminary notices commenced.
