Records or lists of symptoms, the unpracticed beginner is depri of all reliable support In addition to this it must be observed that Rueckert lias embodied in his Collection theoretical not; - from various systems of homoeopathic therapeutics, which . not always based upon clinical experience, but very frequently upon nothing but inferences from the Materia Medica Pura; all such speculative symptoms are likewise contained in the Rueekblieken or Retrospects. In the case of such sympt as have been taken from Ilartmann's Therapeutics, this defect is not much importance, for the reason thai he possessed an exquis I knowledge of the Materia Medica Pura and although his advice often emanated from his closet, yet he often hit most beautifully the right remedy, as has been confirmed by experience, wher - some of the remedies he proposes have not yet been verified by practice, and therefore have not yet been invested with the dignity of clinical acquisitions. In my own Klinischeu Anweisungen (Clinical Instructioi - have indeed endeavored to steer clear oi' this cliff, on which every not strictly critical reporter must strand the more certainly I more conscientiously he seeks to fulfil his task : 1 have examined and tested, as has already been stated, all the cured symptoms by the light of my own experience as well as by that oi' the Ma: Medica Pura, and have only received such o[' t! em as my practical and theoretical knowledge of the remedies pointed out to m<$
