![GENER.4L PROVISION OF HEALTPI SERVICES IN THE AREA. The District Council consists of 27 elected members (after 1st April, 1926, of 25 members, as on that date Oanvey becomes an Urban District). The Council meets monthly. There are the following Committees dealing directly or indirectly with health matters : Public Health Committee. Housing Committee. Town Planning and Plans Committee. Finance Committee. General Purposes Committee. The Council is represented or] the South-East Essex United Districts (Medical Officer of Health) Committee, and the Joint Hospital Committee (on this Committee there are dour mem¬ bers appointed by Shoeburyness Urban Council). Agenda papers and reports of the Committees are sent out to all members before each Council Meeting. The minutes of the Council are circulated. Hospitals provided or subsidised by the Local Authority or by the County Council : — 1. _Tuberculosis Hospitals. These are provided by the County Council. None of the Institutions so pro¬ vided are in Rochford Rural District. 2. —Maternity. No Maternity Hospital is provided for the District.
