(b) General At the time of writing the Hospital has passed out of the control of the Town Council and into the South-West Metropolitan Region. Its future use is rather uncertain in view of the present day tendency towards larger hospital units. During the years that I have known it, since 1940 as your Medical Officer, and since 1925 as Medical Officer of the Rural District, the hospital has met the needs of the area it served, until the staffing difficulties became so acute unng the last 2 years as practically to put it out of action. -2-](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b28907504_0007.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
