Description
Note-book containing memoranda on his books, details of publishing expenses, and sales from 1808 to 1819. Author's holograph MS., with entries by earlier owners. There are miscellaneous notes, extracts, etc., including financial accounts dated from 1748 to 1760, by the earliest owner, in a somewhat illiterate hand, which may be that of Thomas Polwhele of Truro [1724-1777], father of Richard. Besides these there are some medical and veterinary receipts by a different hand. The material that can be dated falls into the years 1748-60 and 1808-19.

1 volume 56 ll. 12mo. 141/2 × 81/2 cm. Original blind-stamped calf binding. Some leaves have been torn out at the beginning and end.

Biographical note
Richard Polwhele was a miscellaneous writer and clergyman of Cornwall, and wrote numerous literary and topographical works. [see the Dictionary of National Biography].
