    PREFACE. The object of this little work is to meet a long- felt want for a concise Treatise On Electricity as a Curative accessible to every understanding. It is intended to furnish those who have but little leisure for a profound study of the electrical sciences, with the means to initiate themselves in some of the rationale of the powers and effects of Electricity, and in a manner as simple as are the experiments afforded by my Flexible Galvanic Chain-Bands and Batteries. The reader will be enabled to judge for himself; become familiar with the why and wherefore of the curative effects of Galvanic Electricity in general, and of Pulvermacher's Medico-Galvanic System in particular. He will also understand why that system has acquired the honourable position it now holds in standard medi- cal works, and the justice of the encomiums bestowed on it by the Scientific Press in general.
