About this work

Description

"An eclectic conversation with my old self and the person I have become. Explores the idea of gender as performance and the tenderness we don't always grant ourselves when coming to terms with our gender identities. The process of analysing the feelings present in this work were to frame the sequences with collage segments in order to represent the composition of messy thoughts which can surround gender expression. As this was a subject close to my heart, great care and time was put into the assembly of each page."-- From zinester's website. https://www.hesitantdoodle.com/gendermess

"As the tide rolls in, so do memories of a self I had thought was lost. The conversation which unfolds proves to be an unexpected revelation. A zine exploring body dysmorphia and how perceptions of yourself grow and shape who you become."-- From back cover.
