The Corporation oAvn the Avaterworks. dTie AA'ater is obtained from tAA'o aa’cIIs sunk into tlie (dialk. They are connected by a lai’ge adit. Tlie AA'ater is treated Iia' a (diemi(*al filtration ])lant. A sei’A'ice reserA'oii* is ])roA'ided, Avith a capacity of from one to two days’ supply. The quantity of AA'ater supplied during the year aa'us 209,8^2,100 gallons. It is said to liawe been amjile and of excellent ciuality. ^\Tth an estimated iiopulation of 18,740, the consump- tion of AA'ater per head of the jiopulation AA'orks out at the high figure of 42 gallons per day. In addition to the main public supply there are a feAA' jiublic punqis AA'hicdi obtain their AA'ater from bores into the underlying chalk. EinnmxGTOxX. The public AA'ater supply is A'ery good. It is deriA'ed from a AA'ell 198 feet deep, sunk into tlie chalk on the (Uitskirts of the toAA'ii. The supply is abundant, very pure, and of excellent (j[uality for drinking and domestic use. The sei’A'ice reserA'oir, AA'hich is coA'ered, has a capacity of aa'cU oA'er a million gallons of AA'ate]’. If contains from one to tAA'o days’ supply. The AA'atei'AA'orks are the ])roperty of the Ilorough, and AA'ere purcdiased in 1899, and considerably enlarged in 1912. There are no AA'ells in the town. IIedox. The main AA'ater supply for the District is direct from the mains of the Hull City Council A\hiterAA'orks, AA'hich are situated AA'ithin the parish. There are also a feAA' AA'ells.
