These Regulations were framed for ilie purpose of preventing any person who is sutfering from tuberculosis of the respiratory tract and who is in an infectious state fiom undertaking any employment in connection with a dairy which would involve the milking of cows, the treatment of milk, or the handling of vessels used for containiiig milk. Only one case lias so far been dealt wit]). This was a notified case of ])ulmonary t\d)erculosis Avho was vending ice-cream. Xo action was taken as the patient liad no active signs of the disease, and no evidence was forthcoming tliat his sputum had at any time contained tnl)ercle bacilli. PUBLIC HEALTH ACT, 1925. Xo action has been taken hy the County Council during 1925 under Section 92 of the above Act. The knowledge of the power of compulsion given under this Section has frequently been used as a lever to prevent Sanatorium patients taking their discharge wlien tlieir home conditions were unsuitable. Ttiis section will be of great importance, but compulsory detention may have an adverse influence on tlie morale and discipline of the Institution involved. TUBERCULOSIS SCHEME. Dispr^NSAnv. The CounciTs scheme includes one Central Dispensary. This is situated at Beverley, and is open two days a week.
