At the East Eiding and City of York Joint Sanatorium (he Countv Council have 43 beds available for all types of cases, except such as require active singical or orthopiedic, treatment. Patients have also been sent dui'ing the year to the Yearsley lEa’dge Sanatorium, York, to the (h'ipples’ Hospital, Alton, and to the Oithojundic llosjiital at Kirbymoorside. One patient discharged from Eaywell was sent to the Preston Hall Colonjv The special need for the isolation and treatment of advan(‘ed cases of piilmonary tuberculosis is recognised. At pi'csent such cases are removed to Eaywell and segregated. 'J’he fourteen beds in the Hospital Block (six for males and eight for females) are always fully occujiied by advaiu*ed cases. In cases where the patient is unwilling to be moved, airangements are made when- ever possible to send any children to Eaywell or to relatives. Co-ommATiox with Sanitaua’ ArTiioniTiES.
