![Maternity and Child Welfare. At the time of writing the last Survey Report matei'iiity and eliild welfare work was only just being undertaken in a systematic, manner by the appointment of a Sn])erintendent Health Visitor- and four Assistant Visitors. Other ari'angemeaits have since been sanctioned, so that at the present time provision is made under the following heads, viz. : — (1) Maternity and Child Welfare Centres. (2) Home visitation of exirectant mothers and of infants and young children. (d) (ji-ants to Vui-sing Associations which employ Certified Midwi ves. (4) Maternity Hospital accommodation. (5) Jb'ovision of exti-a nourishment for necessitous expectant or nursing mothers and for children uj) to the age of five years. INFANT WELFARE CENTRES. Six Infant A\ elfare Centi'es have noAv Ireen establist'.ed in the County, thr-ee under the direct control of the County Conm-il, two in conjunction with the County (,k)un(o’l, and one by a voluntary body.
