    Maternity and Child Welfare. At the time of writing the last Survey Report matei'iiity and eliild welfare work was only just being undertaken in a systematic, manner by the appointment of a Sn])erintendent Health Visitor- and four Assistant Visitors. Other ari'angemeaits have since been sanctioned, so that at the present time provision is made under the following heads, viz. : — (1) Maternity and Child Welfare Centres. (2) Home visitation of exirectant mothers and of infants and young children. (d) (ji-ants to Vui-sing Associations which employ Certified Midwi ves. (4) Maternity Hospital accommodation. (5) Jb'ovision of exti-a nourishment for necessitous expectant or nursing mothers and for children uj) to the age of five years. INFANT WELFARE CENTRES.
