During the course of the year, several Deputations from Boards of Guardians have visited the Asylum, and examined into the condition of the Patients belonging to their respective Unions. The following is an extract from a Report made by a Deputation from the Risbridge Union, after a visit in the month of April. “ Your Deputation were most courteously received by Dr. I Campbell, and accompanied by him over the entire Building, i when they had the opportunity of noticing and tasting the food ( prepared for the Inmates, and also inspecting the various Wards | and Dormitories. Too much really cannot be said of the neatness, [ order, and comfort which distinguishes this Establishment. The I beauty of the situation and magnificence of the Building, its i extensive grounds, the various arrangements for the comfort and l amusements of the Inmates, and the efficiency with which the whole concern is managed, all combine to make it an honour to i the County of Essex. “ Your Deputation have great pleasure in expressing to those i s persons who have friends or relations in this and the Milton ft i Asylum, their entire satisfaction at the care bestowed upon the c i Inmates, and their belief that they enjoy every advantage which u r. humanity can suggest and which their unfortunate position will •; ] allow.”](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b3030720x_0009.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
