    Hospital in 4 days. Bacteriological examination of blood and faeces failed to reveal any causative organism. Unfortunately the information was received by the Department too late to obtain samples of the foods partaken of that would have been likely to cause the illness. Enquiries made from the shops at which the various articles of food were purchased failed to reveal any cases of similar illness among customers : also enquiries were made of all the Medical Practitioners of the district, but no cases of illness that could be attributed to contaminated food were brought to light. Because of the delay which occurred in information of this outbreak of illness reaching the Health Department, all Medical Practitioners in the Borough were written to requesting them to communicate with the Medical Officer of Health immediately Food Poisoning is suspected to be the cause of illness in any case j they may be called to attend. 1 Tuberculosis Order of 1925. The following is a summary of the work done during the I year under the above Order :— Number of premi.ses on which disease was reported ] but not confirmed by Veterinary Inspector :—Nil. Number of premises on which disease was declared to exist by Veterinary Inspector [Art. 5 (I)] :—Nil. 43 Routine inspections were made, in the course of : which 546 Bovine animals were examined; none of the animals was found to be affected with Tuberculosis.
