    The Fencing Courses, under Miss P. North, have continued throughout the year. These courses have been for beginners and the time is approaching for more advanced instruction to be given. This has so far been met by arranging with the Central Council of Physical Recreation for Leaders’ Courses under Professor Roger Crosnier. As he is probably the world's premier coach, we have been fortunate to have him. The School-boys’ Boxing class ran successfully at the RES. Gymnasium under Messrs. Pollard and Woodhead. Out-of-School Swimming was again popular, and supervisors coped valiantly with large numbers. Play Centres were held at Ovenden, Ling Bob. Northowram and Sunnyside. Sunnyside was closed early in the season due to inadequate staff, but the other three ran well, largely because of the efforts of Messrs. Booth, Brooksby, and Birchenough, who continue to accept leaders’ responsibility and give generously of their time. School Clinic. The Orthopaedic Department of the School Clinic now comes under the supervision of Miss Axson, with Mr. Stuart as Senior Assistant. Mr. Stewart, for the past year, has been working at Birmingham. His experience there should prove of value in his present work Staff changes and shortages have again been a source of concern. Apart from Miss Dudgeon's retirement, Miss Foers has left and the Committee is still one short of the normal complement. The third member of staff should be able to take up duties in June, when for the first time for a very long period, the Clinic should be fully staffed. Conclusion. The Organisers wish to express their thanks to Head Teachers and their staffs, to members of the Education Office staff, and to all others whose co-operation has so much assisted them in their work.
