These buildings are, as a rule, not so tightly constructed as to prevent the escape of gas throughout the struc- ture; therefore, if horses or other live stock are present and it is not convenient to remove them they might be killed or seriously injured. The stable may also contain valuable harnesses, carriages and other equipment which are metal trimmed, etc., besides hay and other foodstuffs, which are exposed and may be affected by the gas. As the destruction of the hiber- nating mosquito depends so largely upon the interest and cooperation extended by house owners, it is probably best to con- fine this work to cellars until its value is more fully understood and accepted.
