![DOMESTIC PRESCRIPTIONS. ■ 0. DRAUGHTS. 1. R. In/its. Gentian comp. oz. }■ In/us. Senntp, dr. jj. Tinct. Cardamom, comp. dr. j. M. A draught to be taken an hour before linner, as a stomachic in cases of bad ligestion, where there is also slight ostiveness. Take with it Pill, No. 14, it night, now and then with aarantage. Adhere there is no constipation of )owels, the senna may be omitted or timinished in quantity. 2. R. Infus. Rusarum. oz.j. Sulphat. Macrne.i. dr. }. ,Syr«pi. q. s. M. A coolingandrather opening draught, o be taken once or twice a day in fever, m an empty stomach. This draught s assisted hy Pill, No. 14, taken every other night. 3. R. Decoct. Sarsaparillos comp. oz. ij. A draught to be taken twice a day on itn empty stomach, in cases of erup- kions of the skin, of boils, of nervous rrritability. and many others. Its effect ss powerfully increased as an alterative wy 5 gr. of blue pill, taken at night, ^<o. 19. 4. R. Mistur. Camphor, oz. j. Spirit ^ther nitr.Ax.j. Carbonat. .tJm- mon. gr. vii. M. A very useful draught taken once or »wice a day in cases of corrupt states of moth, of oedematous swellings, incipi- :nnt dropsy, with Pill No. 22. 5. R. Vini. Ipecacuanha, dr. j. An- timon. Tarlariz. gr. j. Aqute puree, oz.j. M. A safe and certain emetic. 6. R. Pulveris Rhei. gr. xv. Potasso' Sulphat. gr. xiii. Aquee Cinna- virnni. oz. j. M. This draught will effectually clear the t,tomach, and is a good and safe pur- gative ; Its effect wUl be rendered more Komplete, if Pill No. 20, be taken the receding night. 7. R. Sodee Tartarisat. dr. ij. Sodo: Carbonat. scr. j. Put the above powder in a glass of eemonade, and take it in a state of tflFervescence; it forms a most grateful find cooling aperientin cases of feverish- uess. 8. R. Infus. Senna, oz. j. Tinct. Jalap, dr. j. Potass. Tartar. At. ]. Cum aliquo Syrupo. M. The above may be taken as a strong Uearing draught, instead of No. 6, rVhere the patient cannot keep rhubarb im the stomach, but it is not near so eertain. And I advise that Pill No. 14 we taken with it, if not beforehand, to ►ncrease the effect if required. 9. R. Potassa; Suhcarbonat, gr. x. Infus. Gentian, covip. oz. j. Spirit yHther. cump.'dr. ss. Opii. min. vi. M. Diaphoretic draught, to be taken at night, in cases of violent cold, and cutaneous obstruction. Open the bow- els previously with Pill No. 20. POWDERS & PILLS. 11. R. Pulveris. Antimon. gr. iij. Calomel, gr. j.—Fiat Pulvis. A powder very useful for children suffering from colds with disordered digestive organs. 12. R. Calomel, gr. j. Pulv. Scam- moniee. gr. iv. A useful powder to give children who suffer from overloaded bowels, or where excrements appear dark or otherwise of an unnatural colour. 13. _R. Sulphat. Quinninw, gr. iij. Twice a day in ague and other inter- mittents after the bowels have been well evacuated with Pill No. 14 or No. 20. 14. R. Calomel gr. j. E.vtr. AloSs. gr. ij. Rhei. ^r. ij.—Pill. The most efficacious PiU for ordinary occasions. 15. R. Extr. Aloes, gr. iij. Rhei. gr. ij.-Pill. 16. R. £.Ttr. Aloes, gr. iv. Saponis, gr.j.-PiU. 17. R. E.vtr. Aloes. Extr. Colo- cynth, comp. Rhei. Of each gr. j. —Pill. _ Those who are subject to constipa- tion of bowels, may make choice of any of the above three Pills, to be taken periodically and frequently as occasion requires. 18. R. Pil. Calomel comp. gr. v. 19. R. PH. Hydrarg. gr. v. Commonly called Blue Pill. May be taken every alternate night in cases of defective action of liver, and for an alterative ; assisted by draughts No. 1, No. 2, or No. 4, according to the case. See those numbers. 20. R. Calomel—Extr. Aloes—Extr. Colocynth—Rhei. gr. j.-An- timon. Tartariz. gr. i. —Fiat Pil. A good Pill tor clearing the bowels pi-evious to giving quinnine for ague. 21. R. Camphora. gr. ij. Pulv.
