    ABRASION.—Broken poisoning, wounds or sores. The exposed part should be immediately treated with lodine Paint. Apply Kutisol Ointment, when. new. skin will rapidly form. ABSCESSES.—Swellings of the skin in which unhealthy matter has accumulated. Usu- ally due to the invasion of certain germs. ~ Very hot linseed or boracic poultice should be used to bring the abscess to a’head, after which it should/be bathed in hot water to which a little Verisan Lysol has been added. | Cover with a piece of lint smeared with Kutisol Ointment and bandage carefully. In severe or fre- quent case s medical attention is een tate Abscesses are usually a sign of weak health. To restore activity,to poor blood com- mence’ taking Kutisol Blood Purifier. A good tonic such as “Mason’s Syrup of Hypo- phosphites is also to be recom- mended. See also “ Boils.” ACTDPTY.=-A form of indigestion in which sour wind or fluid rises from the stomach into, the mouth, usu ally an hour or two after meals. One or two Heart-shape [n- digestion Tablets eaten as a sweet after meals will effectively remove acidity, and attention should be paid to the diet. Alcohol, coffee, sugar and starchy foods are to be avoided. ADDISON’S DISEASE.—A wasting disease accompanied by peculiar bronzing of the skin, Gods, .Eiver= Oyler Maltogen is of value, but the aid of a doctor should be sought. ADENOIDS. — An enlarge- ment of tissues at the junction of the throat and nose, usually causing the sufferer to breathe through the mouth. A surgical operationis generally necessary and this should not be delayed, as adenoids often have very serious consequences, espec- ially in children. AGUE.—See Malaria. AN A‘MIA, or Bloodlessness.— . A very common complaint to-day, especially amongst growing girls. Plenty of fresh air, adequate exercise and careful attention to diet aré essential.
