Cette stabilite rela¬ tive est due au fait que, malgre tous les facteurs d’amelioration qui expliquent la baisse dans la mortalite, 10% au moins, des tuberculeux sont deja parvenus ou glisseront eventuellement vers la chronicite et continueront d’ensemencer leur entoura¬ ge bien que dans une moindre mesure lors- que convenablement eduques. Here, as elsewhere, we are finding an ap¬ preciable reduction in the mortality rate. Unfortunately the morbidity does not exact¬ ly follow the same trend. Despite the fac¬ tors of improvement which give the expla¬ nation for the low mortality rate of tuberculosis, this standstill for the morbi¬ dity could be related to the fact that more than 10% of the infected will reach the chronic stage and will carry on the conta¬ mination of the contacts although to a much lower scale when adequately edu¬ cated.
