There were 3037 live births and 108 stillbirths registered in the County during the year, making a total of 3145, Of this number, 562 occurred in the boroughs of Beverley and Bridlington, leaving a total of 2583 in the area administered by the County Council, The number of births notified to my Office by practitioners, midwives, etc. was 2415, whil.st the Registrars in the County- sent particulars of 151 births which had been registered but not notified. Tho principal causes, of doath in the County were once again heart disoaso (000), cancer (323) and intra-cranial vascular lesions (256), which accounted for nearly 50/1 of tho total deaths.
