Darkening years.

A dramatised documentary, recounting one ophthalmologist's experience of a patient in 1964, a woman who is a working solo GP (family doctor) and the long-term prognosis and everyday management of her eye disease. The GP does not share her worries to the consultant, but she confides in the viewer in a stream of consciousness explaining her fears and how she wants to preserve her independence. Not only is her distant vision affected, her colour vision is imparied too which in her opinion, does not impact on her professional life which is contrary to her visible struggles with night driving on call (causing an accident) and mis/diagnosing patients. Many of the problems relating to her vision problems are alleviated by having eye surgery. She reflects on what the future may hold.
