It is to be noted that although’ efforts were made to keep the prenases up to the required ^rtnndard, a lot im^re could be done. SMOKE OBSERVATION. No serious smoke nuisances were observed during the year, although it was found :iecessary to visit several factories to draw attention to the emission of black smoke. Three informal notices were sent out.
