![ADVERTISEMENT- TlIE generality of the inhabitants of this world, exhibit] an assemblage of beings busily engaged in their occupations by mo- tives of personal interest. Like the rest of mankind, those who devote themselves to literary productions, have in view, for the main objects of their pursuits, the hope of reaping fame or rich- es. In the scientifical career, the eager pursuers are commonly guided by the expectation of acquiring renown and wealth.
