![52. Poisons Book to bo submitted on demund for inspection of Secretaiy of B<jard, failing which a penalty will be imposed. 53. Penalty on purchaser of poison giving false information ; signing as a witness to an unknown pereon, or failing to comply with provisions of this Act. 54. Certain sales of poison exempted from this part of this Act. Proviso. 55. Institution of legal proceedings, either civil or criminal. 56. Certificate of Under Colonial Secretary inutuii facie proof of licence and registration under this Act. 57. Council concerned with medical practitioners and dentists. Board concerned with apothecaries and chemists and druggists. 58. Rules and regulations shall be of legal validity, only when approved and published by the Governor. 59. For purposes of any inquiry the President of Council or Board may administer the oath ; false testimony punished as perjury. 60. Only licensed registered persons entitled to recover any charge in any court of law for medical advice and medicines, etc. 61. Only licensed registered persons to be medical officer or apothecarj' in any hospital or other public establishment or society. 62. No certificate required by law from medical practitioner valid unless signed by licensed registered person. 63. Fees for admission or licensing to be paid to Council and Board who shall administer the fund. 64. All regulations to be approved by Governor and published in Gazette. Schedule A. Schedule B. ACT TO Repeal Ordinance No. 82 of 1830, and to- make provision for the Licensing and Registration of Medical Practitioners, Apothecaries, Dentists, Chemists and Druggists, Midwives and Nurses.— [Assented to 18th August, 1891.] Be it enacted by the Governor of the Cape of Good Hope, by and v-ith the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assemblj thereof, as follows :— PART I. Short title. Act to take effect when pro- claimed by Go- vernor. Section 8 to take effect at once after passing of Act. Interpretation of terms. Preliminaky. 1. This Act may be cited as the “Medical and Pharmacy Act, 1891.” 2. This Act shall take effect on such day as the Governor shall appoint by Proclamation in the Gazette, but the eighth section thereof shall take eftect forth- with after the passing of this Act. 3.
