The fluids and humours of the body, from va- rious caufes, may become either acid, glutinous, or putrefcent, I An acid acrimony prevails principally in the primae vise, and may derive its origin either from too great a quantity of acefcent'food, or from a laxity and debility of the ftomach .and organs of digeftion. . It is to be remedied by diet; by the antacid ab- forbed medicines; and by ftrengthening the primae viae; by which digeftion may be haftened, and the aliments prevented from turning four. To cut off the acefcent fomes, a diet, which is oppofite to acidity, prepared of flefh meats and the alcalefcent vegetables, will be expedient and ufeful.
