The object of the Balance Step is to teach the pupil the very foundation of what constitutes a graceful gait or carriage, and no labour should be spared to attain this end. During the movements the body must be kept perfectly steady and well forward, the shoulders also being square to the front. (U—Without Advancing. Caution—Balance Step, commencing with the Left Foot.
