Medical entymology at Igbo Ora, Western Nigeria

General shots of rural Nigerian landscapes and different natural sources of water which all harbour different disease carrying mosquitoes. Firstly, medium shots of plantain and pineapple plants which are breeding sites for mosquitoes, biting midges and sand flies. Puddles created by contractors also become sites. Yellow fever carrying mosquitoes are found in hollows of tree trunks. Running water is another site for malaria carrying mosquitoes. Turbulent water is a vector for onchocerciasis. It is noted via an intertitle that 'the photographer [cinematographer] was bitten whilst taking this photograph [film]' - close to a village heavily infected with onchocerca.
