    Of the Israelites in the Wildernefs. Come now to the Ifraelites in the Wildernefs. When God, by the Hand of Mofes, had brought out the Ifraelites from Egypt* and had adopted them for his peculiar People, he foon fettled a Government among them, inflituted a Worfhip, built himfelf a Church, ordain’d Ceremonies, appointed Laws, and fanctatied them by Penalties. Now here was a Church, a Tabernacle, a travelling Temple, remov’d to feveral Places, and had feveral Stations. There is do doubt but the Ground where-ever this Tabernacle flood was confecrated by Prayer before it was fet down; the Form of which Confecration-Prayer JMofes gives us, Numbers x. 3 5. When the Ark^ fet for¬ ward, Mofes /aid, Rif up. Lord, and let thine Enemies be fcaltered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. And when it refled he faid, Return, 0 Lord, unto the many Thoufands of Ifrael. Ver. 3 6. Now I am apt to believe, there was not a Jew of all the Tribes that ever thought of a Burial-Place at, or near the Sanctu¬ ary, nor the Court-Yard about it. And this will appear beyond Contradiction, from the Charge God gave to Ifrael at that Time. When the Tabernacle was finilL’d, God confidering the Uncleannefs of thofe that wrought in the rearing of it, and of all Ifrael among whom it flood, and of the Sons of Aaron that were to minifler in it; he commanded, that an Offering fhould be made for an Attonement for the Holy Place, becaufe of the Uncleannefs of the Children of Ifrael.
