About this work

Also known as

Don't be a dummy

Description

An advertisement about the dangers of heroin. A young woman called Kate leans against a wall. A narrator tells us, 'When friends told Kate how good heroin would make her feel, they forgot to tell her how bad it would make her feel'. Over a series of dissolves to suggest the progression of her addiction (she falls back out of the frame), we see the effect of heroin both physically and psychologically on her. The narrator then says, 'Don't be a dummy', with the caption 'Heroin screws you up'.
