E.voe).tion a.s to 34.—Nothing in this Act shall prevent private persons urReut or necessary giving iieccssiiry iiiedictil or surgiciil aid in times of urgent need, provided that such aid or attendance is not given for gain or liire, nor the giving of it made a business, or way of gaining a livelihood hy such person. Term of office. 35-—The meinhcrs of the Newfoundland l\Iedictil Hoard appointed hy any or all of the bodies before mentioned, shall liold office during good hehaviour or until voluntary resig- nation. Governor has I lower to remove members. 36.—The (lovernor in Council shall have the i)ower to remove any mendjer of the Board upon an addre.ss of five- sevenths of its members, Registered practi- tioners shall he re- gistered and licensed. 37.—PA’ery person re.sident in tliis Colony, and who shall have practised medicine, surgery and midwifery for a ])eriod of five years consecutively in one locality previous to the pa,ssing of this Act, upon proof of the same, shall have Ins name registered, and receive a license to practice under this Act: I’rovided that it shall he competent for the New- foundland IVIedical Board to grant license.s to anj peisoirs who may have practiced for a shorter period upon being satisfied by examination or incpiiry that such person is reasonably competent and fit: And further provided, that it shall be competent for the Board, after examination and enquiry, to licen.se persons with a reasonable amount of com- petency to practice in specified localities, in which no (pialitied practitioners reside. Person.s in naval or military service may practice. 38.
