    138. Pil. Camphorae, Capsici, c. Opio. {Cholera Pills.) R Camphoras, gr. ij. ; P. Capsici, gr. jss. ; P. Opii, gr. j. M. ft. pil. This combination operates as an anodjme, astringent, and anti- spasmodic. The pills have been extensively employed, both in this country and in India, and have been known to arrest choleraic and premonitory diarrhoea very speedily. A most efficient remedy for cholera morbus, or summer cholera. See also F. 40. Dose—In severe cases take two for the first dose, and one every two, three, or four hours afterwards. Two or three doses generally suffice to give relief. If collapse or faintness be threatened, hot brandy and water may be advantageously administered after each dose. 139. Pil. Cannabis Ind. c. Opio. R E.xt. Cannabis Ind. Ale., Opii, aa. gr. M. ft. gran. A very useful combination to relieve pain and to procure sleep. Employed in neuralgia and spasmodic coughs. Dose—One pill. 140. Pil. Cannabis Ind., Belladonnae, et Ipecac. R Ext. Cannabis Ind. Ale., gr. |; Ext. Belladonnas, gr. i ; Ext. Opii, gr. ^; Ipecac., gr. M. ft. gran. Another form for administering Cannabis Indicus in a smaller dose for asthma. This formula is preferable to the preceding one. Dose—One twice a day. 141. Pil. Coloc., Hydrarg., et Hyoscyami. R Pil. Coloc. Comp., gr. ij.; Pil. Hydrarg., Ext. Hyos., aa. gr. jss. M. ft. pil. This and the following formula are useful purgatives, acting mildly on the liver.
