    isilation Wards, Classes for Patients. On Tuesdays, Evening Service with Lecture, is performed nt 7 p. m., for the convenience of the Household; on this occasion, the Patients do not attend. The Congregation, (Household and Patients) on Sundays is considerable, and the behaviour of the Patients orderly. Some of them appear to take a devout and intelligent interest in the service. On week days the attendance is smaller, but very satisfactory. The Chaplain usually visits each Infirmary twice, and the other Wards once in the course of the week. In reply to a communication addressed to the Incumbent of Wivelsfield, a letter has been received. In which permis- sion has been kindly granted to the Chaplain to visit those emi:>loyh of the Asylum who may be resident in houses situate in Wivelsfield parish. He will accordingly visit those houses, from time to time. An encouraging report, it is thought, may be made of the Male and Female Adult Classes, which have been held on Tuesdays and Fridays, during several weeks, under the Chaplain’s superintendence; more than thirty different Patients have attended since the commencement. The usual number of the two Classes is not less than twelve. Instruc- tion is given chiefly for writing ; and a short time is devoted, before the Classes separate, to some subject of Geography or History, treated in a familiar or entertaining manner. But not the least result hoped for from the Class Meeting, is the friendly understanding and intercourse which it is anti- cipated will be gradually promoted between a large number of the.Patients and the Chaplain.
