    Vision.—The specialist ophthalmic examination of children was undertaken by the Regional Hospital Board through the Hospital Management Committees. Mr. A. Philipp, Llanelly, held sessions at the Ophthalmic Centre at the West Wales General Hospital, Carmarthen, and Mr. G. S. Forrester, Llanelly, held sessions at Llanelly and at the Amman Valley Hospital. Sessions at Llanelly were held at the Brynmair School Clinic, but cases were also seen at the Outpatient Department of the Hospital. 1,497 children were dealt with by the Eye Specialists dining the year, viz:— Outpatients. Inpatients. Total. West Wales Hospital 558 78 636 Llanelly Hospital 591 50 641 Amman Valley Hospital 214 — 214 Other Hospitals 5 1 6 Totals 1368 129 1497 Glasses were prescribed for 456 children and records held by the School Medical Officer showed that 357 had been provided with glasses at the end of the year. 50 children were on the waiting lists for specialist ophthalmic examination on the 31st December, 1960, viz :— Carmarthen 28 Llanelly — Amman Valley 22 Other Hospitials — Total 50
