The method of illustrating the relations of the arteries to the bones, used by Professor Turner in his Introduction to Human Anatomy, has been adopted in Plate III. fig. 1; Plate IV. fig. 1 ; Plate VIII.; Plate X.; Plate XV. fig. 2 ; Plate XXIV. fig. 1. The text is written as concisely as possible. While it is hoped that nothing important is omitted, the author is well aware of the imperfections of an at- tempt to weld together anatomical detail and surgical practice. The Author has to thank Dr. D. J. Cunningham, Mr. J. C.
